EPF & ESI Process

  • Employees’ State Insurance Corporation(ESI):

Employee's State Insurance(ESI) is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for employees who are earning INR 15000 or less per month as wages needs to be contribute under the Act. For the purpose of said act the employer has to contribute 4.75 percentage and the employee has to contribute 1.75 percentage, total share of 6.5 percentage on monthly basis. This fund is managed by the ESI Corporation (ESI) according to the statutory obligation stipulated therein the ESI Act 1948, which oversees the provision of medical and cash benefits to the employees and their dependent family members through its large network of dispensaries and hospitals throughout India. To enjoy the benefits of ESI, Employer has to register their establishment. HCS has the vast knowledge in relation to obtain and manage registration under the Act. ESI Registration for Employers having more than 10 employees. All registered organizations are allotted with 17 digit Code number to pay their Contributions.

  • Employees’ Provident Fund Organization(EPF):

Act 1952 applies to the factories engaged in manufacturing units or to other establishments notified and engaging 20 or more employees. It is applicable and mandatory statutory obligation of each establishments/factories as mentioned in the EPF Act. It is necessary to register their establishment/factories get the EPF Code number to use the benefit under the Act for their Employees.

The contributions are payable on maximum wage ceiling of Rs 15000/-by employee and employer. The employee can pay at a higher rate and in such case employer is not under any obligation to pay at such higher rate. To pay contribution on higher wages, a joint request from Employee and employer is required [Para 26(6) of EPF Scheme]. In such case employer has to pay administrative charges on the higher wages (wages above 15000/-) For an International Worker, wage ceiling of 15000/-is not applicable.
